No Need to be Bored this Weekend!

It’s that time again! The mid-summer long weekend! If you don’t have a cottage to head to with your friends and family and are instead enjoying the weekend here in Ottawa, we’ve got you covered! Check out a few of the great events happening this weekend to get you out of the house.

Aug 2-5: Capital Ribfest 

Ribfest Ottawa offers free admission to the biggest Ribfest in Ottawa. Located downtown at the Festival Plaza beside City Hall. With live performances from Ottawa’s best musicians, craft beer gardens, treats and deserts and all the ribs, chicken and pulled pork you can eat! Your kids will love the Kid’s Fun Zone!

Aug 2-6: Ottawa International Buskerfest

Come down to Sparks Street and enjoy the world-class shows from performers from all around the globe. Check out the fire-breathers, contortionists, acrobats and more! These performers really know how to put on a show and will have you in stitches from their comedic remarks.

August 4th – 8:30 – 11:30PM: Rock The River Cruise

Get your dance on at Rock the River. Capital Cruises puts on the best summer cruise! Bring your friends to this 18+ event where you can dance the night away with live music and a full-service bar. Snacks are available for purchase. General admission tickets for $28.

August 4th - Casino Lac-Leamy Sound of Light

Check out the most explosive event of the summer! This award-winning show beats any of the other firework shows in Ottawa. Gather around on the backyard at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau as the sound of light shows launch above the Ottawa River.

August 5th 10AM – 8PM: The Amazing Thailand Festival 

The Royal Thai Embassy presents the Amazing Thai Festival! Come down to the horticulture building at Lansdowne Park to enjoy authentic Thai cuisine, captivating classical dances and cultural shows, ultimate relaxation with Thai massage, handcrafts and more!

August 5th 3-4PM: Zumba on the Hill 2018 

Looking to get a little exercise this long weekend? Why not head to Parliament Hill on Sunday for a free Zumba lesson! Meet new people and sweat it out together. Don’t forget to bring your water!
