Last summer we brought you 10 awesome places to stay along the Rideau. This summer we are giving you 10 beautiful waterfront stays in the Ottawa Valley! The Ottawa Valley is made up of lots of stunning lakes and rivers. Along these gorgeous shorelines are a few great accommodations as well! Since staycations are the new vacations for the next little while, why not book a summer weekend at one of these great stays! Be sure to book soon as they get booked up quickly!

The Ottawa Valley stretches over 7,645 kilometres, as far west as Mattawa all the way to Arnprior. A few notable towns in the valley include Calabogie, Bancroft, Barry’s Bay, Pakenham, Pembroke and Perth. There are lots of awesome lakes including White Lake, Lake Dore, Golden Lake, Bark Lake, Weslemkoon Lake and Calabogie Lake. Rivers include the Ottawa River, Bonnechere River and the Madawaska. Calabogie Lodge Resort

Location: 729 Mill Street, Calabogie, ON

Price: Starting at $225 / night

The Calabogie Lodge resort is a 4-season resort located on the shores of Calabogie Lake. The lodge offers 43 units with natural wood walls against a pure country setting. You can enjoy stunning water and mountain views from your patio or balcony. Every villa features a water & mountain view as well as your own private entrance. Opeongo Mountain Resort

Location: 949 Lake Clear Road, Eganville, ON

Price: Starting at $125 / night for cottages or $47 / night for camping

Amenities: Playground, baseball diamond, volleyball pit, badminton, horseshoes, fishing, BBQ, fire pit

If you are looking for a waterfront stay with rustic charm, you have to check out Opeongo Mountain Resort! This resort is situated on the beautiful Lake Clear just outside of Eganville. The resort offers two and three-bedroom cottages with modern washrooms, full-sized refrigerators, microwave ovens and coffee makers and a screened-in porch. If you have a trailer, you can also bring it to the resort to stay at. Each site comes with water, sewer and hydro hookup. You can even bring your pooch along to this dog-friendly resort! There is great fishing here at Lake Clear and the resort also offers fishing licenses for those who do not have one. The resort also offers boat rentals from their private marina.

Mattawa River Resort

Location: 6251 Hwy 17, Mattawa, ON

Price: Starting at $219 / night

Amenities: Private sandy beach, canoes, kayaks, saunas, firepits, paddleboats, horseback riding, Mattawa River Resort Spa and The Cardinal Lodge Restaurant

Travellers who love nature and the great outdoors will love a vacation at the pet-friendly Mattawa River Resort! This waterfront stay offers 12 cozy cottages of various sizes ranging from 2 guests all the way to 16! Each cottage comes with a BBQ, outdoor seating, kitchen or kitchenette, private bathrooms and a deck. The Directeur Cottage even has its own 4 piece jacuzzi! The resort has been featured on the show “Cardinal” as well as Bob Izumi’s “Real Fishing” series. The resort also offers a campsite where you can bring a trailer to camp at. Each site includes hydro and water.

Bayview Lodge Resort

Location: 467 Bayview Lodge Road, White Lake, ON

Price: Starting at $190 / night

Amenities: Snack bar, outdoor saltwater inground pool, marina, games hall, laundry facilities, gas service at the dock, hayrides, Bingo nights and more!

The Bayview Lodge Resort is nestled on the shores of White Lake only 30 minutes west of Kanata. The lodge features seasonal and short-term campsites as well as cottages. There are 12 cottages and 4 chalets available to rent. Each cottage has waterfront views and can accommodate 4-6 persons comfortably. The cottages have full kitchens and bathrooms as well as BBQs, decks and firepits. The 4 spacious chalets can occupy 5-7 people. Each campsite comes with a hydro, water and sewer hookups for your convenience. White Lake offers awesome swimming and boating as well as great fishing including bass, northern pike, walleye, perch and bluegill.

Sunny Hill Resort

Location: 531 Sunny Hill Road, Barry’s Bay, ON

Price: Starting at $144 / night

Amenities: Indoor saltwater pool, hot tub, private beach, boat and canoe rentals, boat launch, fishing pier, pool table, ping pong table, horseshoe pits, basketball courts and laundry facilities

Situated along the sandy shores of Bark Lake, Sunny Hill Resort offers waterfront cottages 13 waterfront cottages accommodating anywhere from 2-10 people. The cottages are fully furnished and each come with their own BBQ and firepit. There is also a campground so you can bring your trailer if you desire! Each campsite comes with full 30 amp service. As with many Ottawa Valley accommodations, the fishing is also incredible here at Bark Lake, so be sure to bring your rod and reel!

Whitewater Cottage Resort

Location:1260 Grants Settlement Road, Whitewater Region, ON

Wilderness Tours brings you their offsite resort – the Whitewater Cottages. Located on the shores of the stunning Ottawa River and less than a 15-minute drive to the main Whitewater Park Village. The waterfront stay offers 6 beautiful cottages that sleep between 4-12 people. From the rustic cedar cabin all the way up to the luxurious log cabin or lake house. These awesome cottages are where you can stay during your white water rafting adventure tour! Wilderness Tours also provides camping, RV sites and other various lodging options over at Park Village, also on the Ottawa River.

Round Lake Resort

Location: 37 Daphne’s Lane, Killaloe, ON

Price: Starting at $100 / night

Amenities: Games room, fire pits, canoes, paddleboats, SUPs, volleyball pit, badminton, fishing

Round Lake Resort offers 6 cottages that can accommodate between 2-6 guests. These log cabins are all equipped with full-sized kitchens, gas BBQs, decks, firepits (with campfire wood provided) and each has its own private deck. All linens and towels are provided so you can just pack the car and show up! Enjoy swimming in the sandy waters, fishing off the end of the dock and beautiful sunsets over the water. There are even live chickens at the resort for you to pet and enjoy fresh eggs for breakfast!

Sylvania Lodge

Location: 4195 County Road #8, McDonald’s Corners, ON

Price: Starting at $120 / night

Amenities: Private boat launch and docks, kayaks & canoes, Dalhousie Lake Restaurant, laundry facilities, children’s play structure, horseshoe pits, private sandy beach

Sylvania Lodge offers 4 budget-friendly 2 bedroom cabins. 2 of the 4 cabins are waterfront and 2 are not, however you can still enjoy access to the sandy beach and docks. Each cabin has its own deck or patio, gas BBQ, firepit, patio furniture and full-sized picnic table. You will need to bring your own bedding and linens. There is also a campground at the lodge where you can bring your RV for the summer. Each site comes with 30 amp electric service. The Dalhousie Lake Restaurant is also located onsite where you can enjoy delicious Canadian and Chinese food.

The White Pines

Location: 641 Popkie Road, Calabogie, ON

Price: Starting at $200 / night

Amenities: Private sandy beach, volleyball & badminton court, horseshoe pits, playground with 5 slides, towers, zip line and a climbing wall, canoes, kayaks, marina, motorboat rentals and a boat launch 

The White Pines offers 7 cottages accommodating between 2-7 people. All cottages have full bathrooms and kitchens. Each bedroom is supplied with comforters, pillows and blankets, however you will need to bring your own sheets and pillow cases. All cottages have their own picnic table, firepit, BBQ and deck chairs. All cottages offer stunning water views and most come with their own private dock as well. This scenic resort offers beautifully landscaped grounds paired with the natural beauty of Black Donald Lake.

Blue Moon Retreat

Location: 37369 County Road 62 Purdy, ON

Price: Starting at $200 / night

Amenities: Canoes, kayaks, tennis, volleyball, badminton, basketball, nature trails, adult only

The Blue Moon Retreat sits on 800ft of pristine shoreline on the largely undeveloped Purdy Lake. Featuring 4 spotless cottages outfitted with cozy decor and the luxuries of modern life. The cottages accommodate between 2 and 4 people. Each cottage comes with a hot tub, deck, BBQ, fire pit, satellite TV and WiFi. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets over Purdy Lake, star gazing, bird watching and toasting marshmallows around your own campfire, stocked with firewood.
